“I cannot remember the books I’ve read any more than the meals I have eaten; even so, they have made me.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Simply put, I’m a lover of food and books–an unfailing combination that I have leaned on for as long as I can recall.
I come from an Italian culture, meaning, I come from a family of food. Homemade tomato sauce, backyard summer gardens, and traditional baked desserts were the ingredients of my upbringing. But I’m no culinary queen. I often left the dough rolling and pasta making to the experts: Mom and Nonna.
Now, as I write this, a new “normal” has entered the global stage with the name of quarantine. Forced to stay home, I found myself itching to try new recipes, whether it be for dinner or dessert.

But I didn’t want anything complicated, just something to satisfy my hunger–and my sweet tooth. I started making tried-and-true recipes from my childhood and, when I was craving something new, scrolled online for some simple yet delicious recipes.
So, here we are: a variety of recipes that are easy to follow and will leave you wanting more. The Savoury and Sweet collections showcase recipes from my kitchen as well as from fellow chefs I found online (sources are included).
If anything, I hope this helps you cook or bake your next great dish, proving that you don’t have to be an expert to create a memorable meal.
Simple and delicious is the way to go.
